JOANNE CAPUTO
Joanne has been a certified Reiki practitioner since 1998. A student of Terri Coleman of Yellow Springs, Joanne was happily tricked by the Divine into attending her first Reiki (Level I) class in the Usui tradition (described in the memoir, Depth of Love (or Butterfly on the River E-Book)).
From there, Reiki study and attunements provided her with critical spiritual growth opportunities, especially as she experienced paranormal activity during the Margaret Garner original research project. Joanne then completed her Level II certification and spent an additional year in Coleman's 2004 Master class.
What is Reiki?
To my best understanding, all life on Earth is subject to energy transferring or radia-ting from the Earth (geo-thermal) and the Sun (solar), as well as the energy from the other planets of the solar system at the moment of one’s birth.
This universal life energy streams through a human body via a main circuit near the spine, intersecting at several points (or “chakras”) and channeling out onto smaller pathways.
One’s energy frequency - or rate of vibration - varies from person to person. A Reiki-attuned practitioner can help raise the frequency or vibration temporarily or permanently by applying their own higher frequency to a person’s body (or energy field) during a treatment session.
When I am providing a Reiki treatment, I often experience surges of energy shooting down my right arm into the recipient’s body, causing my arm to tremble momentarily.
