Cutting Loose
Joanne's nephew, John Caputo, was tossed into prison as a teen for stealing a car, and quickly became a feared "scrapper" who spent years in the hole (solitary confinement). Ending up in Pennsylvania’s largest maximum-security facility near Philadelphia, John transformed himself into an award-winning artist and talented barber, garnering the respect of inmates. But after 11 years, he had to control his violent patterns and face another fight – the fear of being free.
“A captivating touching film that highlights the importance of creative outlets for the rehabilitation of inmates, and the emotional and societal difficulties that inmates face after they leave prison...”
Cheryl Meyer, PhD, JD, Author of Mothers Who Kill Their Children
“Inspirational and heart-warming. Congratulations on tackling a difficult subject that is both thoughtful and captivating.”
